The cage wash facility is the foundation of all animal health and welfare support in a research facility. All research facilities that work with animals are bound by high standards of practice to ensure the safety and welfare of the individuals working in their environments. In this introductory course, we will recognize the areas of support provided by the cage wash facility,  review the roles and responsibilities of the cage wash personnel, and explore the various areas of the cage wash facility that cage staff work in. 

Intended audience: Learners assigned the role of cage wash technician role. Also may benefit animal care takers and technician which may assist with cage wash roles.
