Employee Resource Groups
At Charles River, we are thousands of difference makers united by one purpose: Together We Create Healthier Lives. Employee Resource Groups are part of our strategy to help make a difference by fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where employees can truly bring their full selves to work.
For 2021, we are proud to announce that we are launching seven (7) ERGs:
- African Ancestry@CRL & Allies,
- Armed Forces/Veterans @CRL & Allies,
- Asian Pacific Islander @CRL & Allies,
- Health & Wellness @CRL & Allies,
- PROUD @CRL & Allies,
- Women @CRL & Allies, and
- Young Professionals @CRL & Allies.
We invite you to attend one of our upcoming workshops to learn more about how to join an employee resource group (ERG) as a member or ally, form an ERG or new Site chapter, or participate on an ERG Leadership Team.
What are Employee Resource Groups?
ERGs are company supported groups that provide employees with the opportunity to voluntarily come together around shared identities, backgrounds, experiences, and objectives (e.g., race, gender, disability, generational, sexual orientation/gender identity, veteran status, etc.). ERGs directly contribute to fostering equity and belonging by providing employees support with personal and career development, culture and educational awareness, and community activities. Their diverse perspectives also help drive improved business outcomes and results.
Who can join an ERG?
Membership is open to all employees with a desire to participate and support a particular group. Employees across all demographics are encouraged to join and support these groups.
Why should you join an ERG?
- ERGs foster greater inclusion and belonging and enhance Charles River’s DE&I culture by engaging employees across spectrums of diversity and help raise cultural awareness and expand our customers’ and marketplace needs.
- ERGs can open the door to career and professional development opportunities outside of our daily roles as well as provide mentoring, leadership skill building, and networking opportunities.
- ERGs can also provide diverse insights on strategy, recruitment, on-boarding, training, marketing and other business goals and challenges.
