2020 Program Start Dates
- August 4th
- November 3rd
About the Program:
This 40-week virtual program is designed for any laboratory animal science professional wishing to prepare for the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification examination offered by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
Learners will participate in recorded virtual classes conducted by Charles River Campus (US) and complete all course activities within Campus program guidelines. Learners may complete the virtual program faster if desired, if they meet the Campus program requirements. Online learning and quizzing will assess and reinforce knowledge required for the exam and students will also have the option to join monthly Q/A forum sessions to interact with instructors and peers within their program.
The program will follow content outlined in the most recent edition of the AALAS ALAT Training Manual, Student Workbook, and Regulatory Workbook. Lessons will progress by chapter and unit. Unit assessments will be assigned to test interim knowledge levels and each student will attempt a mock examination to complete the program. Learners should have all manuals and references required to support their AALAS certification journey before starting this program. This program does not replace the AALAS resources for study preparation and is an additional resource for certification preparation.
