Course content includes:

• Understanding the requirements of ASPA as modified by the European Directive
• Knowing which training courses are available, either in-house or commercially
• How to advise individuals on their training requirements for licence applications
• How to ensure competence assessment is conscientiously performed and recorded
• Record keeping required under the guidelines of ASPA for training and competence
• The structure of ongoing training requirements
• Where to find up-to-date information regarding the 3Rs and species specificity
• The functions and objectives of the Animal Welfare Ethical Review Body (AWERB)

This course will appeal to those who are soon to start as an NTCO/NIO or have recently started in the role of the Named Training & Competency Officer (NTCO) or Named Information Officer (NIO).
