This module provides the learner and overview of the definitions, regulations and references related to biosafety. The role biocontainment procedures in both engineering and administrative controls are presented.  Processes and procedures common to standard microbiological practices, biohazardous waste decontamination, disposal are introduced along with appropriate response to spills and accidents within the biocontainment laboratory.
