Animal Restraint and Handling (Mice & Rats)

The aims of this course are:

  • Identify three different methods of animal restraint
  • Recognize alternatives to restraint methods when applicable
  • Recognize sexing techniques and identify gender for mice and rats

Program:

  • Manual, mechanical and chemical restraint for mice and rats
  • Signs of distress for mice and rats
  • Rodent sexing and advice 
  • Knowledge assessment
Target audience: Animal caretaker, person in charge of carrying out procedures on animals, person in charge of designing procedures and project, Animal Welfare Body
